House Rules

Oliasi management has laid a few rules for its occupants to give everyone a comfortable stay.
It is expected that every student follows the rules stringently.

Oliasi retains ownership of all materials provided to resident students. Residents need to take good care of these materials during use and return them promptly afterwards.
Students are responsible for the safety of their belongings, valuables and cash. No one will be held responsible in case of theft, damage or loss.

Behaviour

  • The residents must treat the housekeeping staff with due courtesy.
  • Residents must not create nuisance/ disturbance inside the residence. They shall maintain a peaceful & pleasant environment for fellow residents.
  • Students should immediately inform the management staff of any mishap/ emergency/ health problem or if there is any other serious matter.
  • Oilasi student accommodation in Spain does not allow students to celebrate birthdays/ do parties, or celebrate any other occasion in the room or common area. It is to ensure the comfort of students living in the residence.
  • To promote a pleasant and tranquil environment in the house, residents must be responsible for disposing of their rubbish and keeping the highest level of hygiene.

Cleaning

  • Deep cleaning of rooms and common areas takes place once a week. Residents should cooperate in the activity and maintain hygiene everywhere.
  • Residents should keep their rooms clean and tidy.

Toilet and Bathrooms

  • Don’t throw trash into the bowl, except toilet paper.
  • Do not leave the toilet without flushing.
  • Be sure to dry and clean up the floor after using the bathroom to avoid accidents.

No pets are allowed in the house.

Each resident receives a key to the main door and room door. Students are advised to lock the room and other storage when leaving, and to also keep the key with them, as one cannot re-enter the room without the key once the door is closed. If anyone vacates the residence after office hours or during the weekend, i.e. in the absence of Oliasi management staff, they should leave the key in the room.

Residents must not create nuisance/ disturbance inside the residence. Any students found disturbing other students’ comfort due to noise might face disciplinary action.
No students should use abusive language and follow noisy behaviour inside or outside the residence. Everyone should keep their noise level to a minimum to avoid disturbing other students. Any breach will lead to disciplinary action.

Celebrating birthdays or any other occasion that requires gathering is strictly prohibited in the room or common area. In case of a breach, articles get damaged, or cleaning is required, it will come on students.

Alcohol consumption inside the residence for legally entitled residents is allowed but with the condition that one should consume it at the permitted place and in moderation. Any disturbance to other residents or a breach of policy will lead to disciplinary action. Thus, it is better to avoid it.

Residents must not indulge in illegal activities such as the consumption of drugs or unlawful substances. Any incidences found will call for disciplinary actions.

Burning flammable objects like candles, mosquito coils, oil burners, etc., is not permissible inside the premises. Smoking is also prohibited in the room or the surrounding areas.

Verbal, physical abuse, ragging, harassment, and discrimination are strictly prohibited in the residence.

Students must take good care of the property and furniture. Sticking posters, damaging walls and furniture, and sticking tapes are not permitted on campus.

Residents must use electricity, water and equipment provided with all wisdom and should not waste and overuse it. Television and other equipment should be turned off when not in use. One should not disturb the heating equipment set. Coordinate with the management team for anything required.

To maintain good hygiene in and outside their rooms, all residents must use linen for all bedding accessories, such as pillow covers, mattress protectors, bed sheets, etc., to avoid stains on the bedding.

Bathroom Rules

  • One should leave the bathroom clean after every shower.
  • Any leftover or used products should be disposed of in the dustbin. The bathroom must be left clean and dry.
  • One should keep the toilet clean all the time.
  • The washbasin should not be left in a mess. The user must leave it clean.
  • One must leave the basin and sink clean and dry after every use.
  • Turn off the lights when leaving the bathroom.
  • Nothing except toilet paper should be flushed in the toilet.
  • The bathroom should be left clean and dry to avoid slips.

Kitchen Rules

  • Dishes and all kitchen wares should be kept clean after every use.
  • Garbage and trash should be disposed of properly in the respective garbage bins. The blue bin is for dumping non-biodegradable, and the brown bin bio-degradable.
  • One must report to the management any accidents.

Rubbish and Recycling

  • Residents must dispose of waste according to the rules.
  • All waste should be segregated in plastic bags before the dump and kept in the kitchen. When the bin is full, the waste bag needs to be dropped in the correct bin.
  • The Black in normal waste, green is glass, yellow is cans and plastic, Brown is organic waste
  • Leaving food or scraps is strictly prohibited in the bedroom to avoid insects.

In Case of Damage

  • The resident must take care of everything in the room. If the resident damages anything, he will be penalized by paying the repair or replacement cost of the damaged article.

Disciplinary Action

  • 1st offense: Verbal warning.
  • 2nd offense: Written warning.
  • 3rd offense: Termination of the contract, eviction in the house.

To Do

  1. The refrigerator provided is for all students. One should try to store stuff in moderation.
  2. Keep the refrigerator clean by not storing food for a long time or throwing spoiled food.
  3. Use leak-proof containers to avoid spills.

Not To Do

  1. Don’t keep the food uncovered.
  2. Don’t touch other’s items.
  3. Don’t keep the refrigerator door open for more than the required time.
  4. Remember, the house refrigerator is for all. So, be considerate!

WiFi Internet

Oliasi student residences in Spain come with an internet facility. It is mainly for academic purposes, but students can also use it for personal work like video calls, sending emails, etc. One can use it for entertainment too, however, in moderation, as it is common for all residents and one person should not use all data.

The Fire Safety Rule

  1. Cooking is strictly prohibited in bedrooms.
  2. The turned-on gas/food should not be left unattended.
  3. All appliances must be turned off after every use.
The heating system is activated by the management as needed during winter. Typically, it is utilized during the winter and spring months, considering the prevailing weather conditions. During winter, the system remains active in the morning and evening, coinciding with the periods of lowest temperatures. Occupants are advised to close all doors and windows for effective warming.
